THE ANGELES CITY POLICE HISTORY

Angeles Metropolitan District Command was organized on April 16, 1977 pursuant to General Order Number 0-2 Headquarters First Philippine Constabulary Zone as major subordinate command. Subsequently, when regionalization was activated in October 1978, it was declared a major of Regional Command 3.

Its operational jurisdiction covers one (1) city and three (3) municipalities, Angeles City with an area of about 6,438.82 hectares, 33 Barangays and population if approximately 271,002. The municipality of Mabalacat, Pampanga with an area of about 16,580 square kilometer with 27 Barangays and population of approximately 90,000. The municipality of Magalang, Pampanga with an area of approximately 9,731.01 has 27 Barangays and a population of about 43,688. The municipality of Porac, Pampanga with an area of about 30,949 hectares has 29 Barangays and population of about 68,215.

Angeles METRODISCOM Headquarters lies 16 kilometers away from the Provincial Capitol of Pampanga bound in North and Northeast of the Provinces of Tarlac and Nueva Ecija, further Southeast of Bulacan while on the West in Zambales. With the advent modern Hi-ways and transportation only 50 minutes drive from Manila car and 167 kilometers away from the pines clay City of Baguio. Headquarters Angeles METRODISCOM was named in honor of the late 2Lt Tomas J Pepito who died in encounter between NPAs at Ibus, Sapangbato, Angeles City on May 5, 1977.

The Angeles City Police Office was activated on 01 July 1994 pursuant to General Order 450 Headquarters PNP RECOM 3 dated 12 July 1994 following the deactivation of the Angeles METRODISCOM in compliance with NAPOLCOM Resolution Number 92-36 dated 15 October 1992 approving the Revised Organizational structure of the Philippine National Police. At present Angeles City Police Command was renamed POLICE CITY OFFICE effective 01 October 1996 pursuant to NAPOLCOM Resolution Number 96-058.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The City of Angeles has a total land area of (6,216.16 has.) hectares with effective agricultural area of two thousand four hundred fifty one and 07/100 (2,451.07 has.)

Angeles City has a good economic development potential. Production in terms of rice, root crops and vegetables have been determined to be potentially competitive. However, poor agricultural facilities, high costs of farm inputs and post harvest losses have prevented its realization. The availability of farm labor and skills must be exploited to be enhanced by the easier t credit facilities and technology.

Angeles is a highly urbanized City which makes it an ideal center of commerce and trade. From the time of its city hood in 1964, there has been a marked consistent growth of business and commercial establishments in the city.

Angeles City Police Office is a Type “B” City Police Office. It is composed of (6) Police Stations with seventeen (17) Community Police Action Centers (COMPACs) , one (1) City Mobile Group (CMG), a Angeles City Traffic Management Enforcement Unit (ACTMEU), a Women Children Protection Desk (WCPD), and a City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Task Group (CAIDSOTG).

The City Police Office is located at Camp Tomas J Pepito, Brgy Sto Domingo, Angeles City. Its AOR is the whole of Angeles City with land area of 62.15 square kilometer. It serves a population of 708,000 distributed among the City’s thirty-three (33) barangays.
